Almaden Valley Schools 

Schools in Almaden Valley are part of San Jose Unified School District, except the far northwest corner which has one elementary school covered by Union School District. Bret Harte Middle school serves over 1100 students from Grade 6-8 and is rated a 7 out of 10 on Great Schools website, but school test score are rated 10/10.

Located at 7050 Bret Harte Drive, San Jose CA the mascot is a Bronco and their school mission is “Uniting as one community; we elevate opportunities for all”.  Parents and teachers work together to support the school and students through the BRCC (Bret Harte Community Club).

Castillero Middle School

Castillero Middle School

Castillero Middle school serves about 1100 students from Grade 6-8 and is rated a 6 out of 10 on Great Schools website and this school is a visual and performing arts magnet.

Located at 6384 Leyland Park Dr, San Jose CA the mascot is a Cobra and their school vision is “Preparing today’s students to be the thinkers, leaders and creators of tomorrow”.  Parents and teachers work together to support the school and students through the Castillero PTA.

Graystone Elementary

Graystone Elementary school serves about 540 students from Grade Kinder to Grade 5 and is rated an 8 out of 10 on Great Schools website.

Located at 6982 Shearwater Dr, San Jose CA, the Graystoneschool pledge is “Be considerate, be responsible, be safe. I will be Graystone Great!”  Parents and teachers work together to support the school through the Graystone Home and School Club.

Guadalupe Elementary - Union School District

Guadalupe Elementary School

Guadalupe school serves over 500 students from Grade Kinder to Grade 5 and is rated an 8 out of 10 on Great Schools website.  Students from GuadalupeElementary living in Almaden Valley, go to Dartmouth Middle School and then have a choice of High school, either Branham High School or Leigh High School.

Located at 6044 Vera Cruz Drive, San Jose CA, the Guadalupe mascot is a Grizzly.  All students are encouraged to follow “ROARS”: responsibility, ownership, acceptance, respect, safety. Parents and teachers work together to support the school through volunteer jobs on campus and the Guadalupe Home and School Club.

Leland High School

Leland High School

Leland High School serves about 1900 students from Grade 9 to 12 and is rated a 8 out of 10 on Great Schools website.

Located at 6677 Camden Ave, San Jose, CA, the Leland mascot is a Charger and due to the size and location, the school has a noticeable presence in the community.  Parents work together to support the school through the Leland Parent Club and Booster Club.

Los Alamitos Elementary School serves about 731 students from Grade Kinder to Grade 5 and is rated a 8 out of 10 on Great Schools website.

Located at 6130 Silberman Dr., San Jose CA, the Los Alamitos mascot is a Lion and the school has a great community presence. Parents and teachers work together to support the school through the Los Alamitosparent-teacher association. Their school vision is to “Value positive behavior and encourage our students to have Lions’ P.R.I.D.E: Problem solve, Respect all, I make responsible decisions, Do your best, Everyone cares”. Every spring Los Alamitos offersamulticultural faire of all the countries and cultures represented at their school.

Pioneer High School serves about 1,600 students from grade 9to 12 and is rated a 7 out of a 10 at Great Schools website.

Located at 1290 Blossom Hill Road, San Jose, CA 95118, the Pioneer mascot is a Mustang. Pioneer has modern facilities and cutting-edge technology within the school. Their school vision is “Preparing today’s students to be the thinkers, leaders and creators of tomorrow”. Pioneer has a lot to offer their students, from athletics, to performing arts, clubs to join which include a robotics team and leadership program. Teachers and staff provide support to all students to make their high school years a success. Parents and teachers also work together through the Pioneer High School Education Foundation.

Simonds Elementary school serves about 651 students from Grade Kinder to Grade 5 and is rated a 7 out of 10 on Great Schools website.

Located at 6515 Grapevine Way, San Jose, CA 95120 the Simonds mascot is a Cougar and their school vision is, “All students are inspired and prepared to succeed in a global society.”  Parents and teachers work together to support the school through the Simondsparent-teacher association. Simonds offers a music, choir and band programs. They also have a computer lab on site to offer hands on learning through multimedia experiences.

Located at 1150 Rajkovich Way, San Jose, CA 95120 the Williams mascot is a Whale and their school vision is “Preparing today’s students to be the thinkers, leaders, and creators of tomorrow”.
