Union School District San Jose is located near Los Gatos CA, covering a small section of Los Gatos and San Jose sections of Cambrian and Almaden Valley. This highly-sought-after elementary and middle school district is smaller in size allowing quick adjustments to the ever-changing education tools and technology. Most schools in the district are recognized as CA Distinguished schools. Currently this district can issue every student their own iPad or Chrome book depending on grade level. Union School District also has new Makerspace and STEM buildings on campus which provide hands on science, technology, engineering, and math education for students.
Union School District is financially supported by a local resident approved property tax measure as well as income from district owned real estate. Measure B passed by the district’s residents in 2015 helps to maintain lower student to teacher ratios and support the districts programs. This measure costs each parcel $96 per year, but provides valuable funds to the district resources.
Union School District San Jose consists of 8 schools with about 5,800 students. The middle schools offer outstanding band and music programs and many of the elementary schools have beginning band for 4th and 5th graders too.
